Ujjain is traditionally considered one of India’s seven holy cities and one of the four places where the eternal nectar of the demigods fell upon the earth after a major struggle with the demons. This ancient occurrence has given Ujjain the spiritual gravitas that marks the Maha Kumbha Mela, a festival that takes places every twelve years.


Kal Bhairav

The Kal Bhairav temple is a Hindu temple located in the Ujjain city of Madhya Pradesh, India. Bhairava, sometimes known as Kala Bhairava, is a Hindu deity, a fierce manifestation of Shiva associated with annihilation. He is often depicted with frowning, angry eyes and sharp, tiger's teeth and flaming hair; stark naked except for garlands of skulls and a coiled snake about his neck.


Ram Ghat

Along the banks of River Kshipra, many bathing ghats are located. The Shri Ram Ghat, also known as Ram Ghat is the most ancient bathing ghat and is very popularly visited during the Kumbh Mela. It is located near the Harsiddhi Temple. According to Indian astronomers, passing of the Tropic of Cancer through the picturesque city of Ujjain gives it a pulsating energy that makes the pilgrim journeys of people a spiritual revelation

Maheshwar Fort

Maheshwar was a glorious city at the dawn of indian civilization when it was mahishmati, capital of king kartivarjun. This temple town on the banks of the river Narmada finds mention in the epics of Ramayana and mahabharata. Revived to its ancient position of importance by the holdar queen Rani Ahilyabai of Indore.
